Description
This is currently my favorite print.
I cannot believe the translucent ink color that floats across the wood grain of the Cypress plank.
Along the winding spring-fed waters of Rainbow River, kayakers drift quietly through ribbons of brilliant aqua-blue water beneath a canopy of Florida cypress and hardwoods. The river moves like a living thread through the landscape, weaving together sunlight, reflections, and the constant gentle motion of the springs below. Crystal-clear water reveals the shifting grasses and limestone beneath the surface, creating layers of turquoise, emerald, and silver that seem almost unreal in their clarity.
The kayakers add both scale and stillness to the scene, floating effortlessly through the cool currents as if suspended between sky and water. Sunlight dances across the surface while shadows from overhanging trees soften the vivid colors below, creating a balance of movement and calm unique to Florida’s natural springs.
Captured in natural light and printed on carefully selected Cypress wood, the flowing grain and organic textures of the material mirror the movement of the river itself. Variations within the wood enhance the depth and individuality of each piece, allowing the photograph and natural surface to merge into one composition. The result is a tranquil portrait of Florida’s spring waters — vibrant, timeless, and deeply connected to the natural rhythm of the landscape
