In the summer (2024) I worked upon many new skills and brought them to the work table. I enjoyed a printmaking class and after working through some steps of my own, I am able to transfer my prints to wood, by hand.

The summer of (2025) I was given some beautiful end cuts of hardwoods, Ash, Maple, Oaks, all beautifully planed and some finished with a satin poly, I decided to source a local printer in printing my photos on wood for these premium wood pieces. I am so happy to have found some new materials and now utilizing a commercial printer that is also a local wildlife photographer has been a bonus in creating these recent works.

And this recent summer of (2026) brings a new view of something I have been making for years, and now am seeing again in a new light.

Recently someone challenged me into making the Royal Palm Pockets into a self standing vase like structure for arranging the beautiful floral displays we have gathered to fill a Royal Palm ” Pocket”. I was able to successfully wrestle a Royal Palm “Boot” into shape for the holidays of 2025 and happily have been adding them to the makings. I posted a photo of some of the palm work unfinished, before I adorned them with shell and palm husk accessories.

The reaction to the post was a new look at my palm work as sculptural vessels, and in an artists form rather than used in a floral arrangement…nice. I find both pleasing to work on and complete, and have stepped out into some wonderful retail, gallery and exhibit opportunities with my recent work making this Royal palm Pockets and Boots.
