Description
Together, the photography and botanical works share the same philosophy: honoring overlooked materials, preserving the beauty of Florida’s natural landscape, and creating meaningful pieces that connect craftsmanship, sustainability, and a strong sense of place.
Deep within Goethe State Forest, endless rows of pine trees create a striking barcode-like pattern, surrounding the viewer in rhythm, texture, and shadow. The vertical lines of the forest stretch into the distance, forming a natural design that feels both graphic and serene. Bright greens and soft yellows filter through the landscape, gently softening the stark browns and blacks of the pine bark.
This photograph is thoughtfully printed on kiln-dried Ambrosia Maple, chosen for its remarkable natural character. The spalting patterns within the wood uniquely mirror the standing forest itself, allowing the material and image to visually merge into one composition. Natural wormholes scattered throughout the wood appear almost like watchful openings within the trees, adding depth, texture, and an organic sense of curiosity to the piece.
Each panel is one of a kind, blending the raw beauty of Florida’s forests with the unpredictable artistry found in reclaimed natural materials
